Hedgehog Feeding Station
The feeding stations are only sold through collection from the rescue, even though the website will offer you postage, because of their size they are not suitable to be posted. If you wish to purchase one please message the rescue to arrange collection and payment. Bowls in the photograph are not included.
Want to feed wild hedgehogs that visit your garden but don't want your, or the neighbours, cats to eat it?
This is a simple feeding station that we use in the rescue's garden that prevents our cats, and some cheeky neighbouring cats, from eating the food. It is simply an 'under the bed' plastic storage box but we have cut an 11cm hole in making it accessible for even the chunkiest of hedgehogs (we've tested it on a 1.5kg hoggy) but is usually too small for a cat to get in (we've plenty of footage from our wildlife cameras showing a variety of cats attempt to get in but can't). Remember to put something on the box to make sure it doesn't get knocked or blown over and to place the food bowls at the far end of the box so that it's out of reach as cats will be able to get a legs/paw through the hole!
You can make your own easy enough, the key is the size of the hole, but if you haven't the time, or tools, then we sell them at the rescue for a donation of £10 that covers the cost of the box and the plastic trim around the hole.
